Privacy policy
Last updated: 6 August 2026
FuelPoint ("we", "us", "our") is an authorised Shell Card Sales Agent for Viva Energy Australia. This policy explains how we handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
1. Information we collect
We only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for our business functions. Through this website that includes:
- Contact details you submit in the enquiry form — your name, business name, phone number and email address.
- Fleet information you provide, such as fleet size and estimated fuel volumes entered into the fuel calculator.
- Technical information automatically generated when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed and referring page.
The fuel calculator runs entirely in your browser. The numbers you type into it are not transmitted to us or stored unless you separately send them to us in an enquiry.
2. How we collect it
We collect information directly from you when you complete the enquiry form, email us, or call us. Submitting the enquiry form opens your own email client so the message is sent to us by you — we receive only what you choose to send.
3. Why we collect and use it
- To respond to your enquiry and arrange a call.
- To assess your fleet's suitability for a Shell Card product and prepare an indicative offer.
- To submit and administer a Shell Card application on your behalf, where you ask us to.
- To provide ongoing account support.
- To meet our legal, regulatory and record-keeping obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We will only send you marketing material where you have consented or would reasonably expect it, and every message will include an unsubscribe option.
4. Who we disclose it to
To arrange a fuel card we may disclose your information to Viva Energy Australia and its Shell Card operations, credit assessment providers where an account requires credit approval, and our IT and hosting service providers. We may also disclose information where required or authorised by law.
We do not currently disclose personal information to overseas recipients other than through cloud hosting and email infrastructure that may store data outside Australia.
5. Cookies and analytics
This website may use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the site to function, along with basic analytics to understand how the site is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as intended.
6. Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. We keep information only as long as it is needed for the purposes above or as required by law, and then destroy or de-identify it.
If an eligible data breach occurs we will respond in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, including notifying affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) where required.
7. Accessing and correcting your information
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Contact us at hello@fuelpoint.com.au and we will respond within a reasonable period, usually 30 days.
8. Complaints
If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles, contact us at hello@fuelpoint.com.au and we will investigate and respond. If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to the OAIC at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
